Missions

We, here at Grove Avenue take pride in helping the community.  We support 7 local and national missions. Those missions are:

Cambria City Mission

Located in Cambria City, they serve the local community by promoting the Christian way of life through the teaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  They also provide social and recreational activities through boy and girls clubs and camps.

Mulungwishi Seminary

A Methodist Seminary founded in 1951 with the goal to educate men and women to serve the church in the Congo.

Next Day Ministries

A 6 month Christ-centered residential addiction recovery program focused on getting their residents back on their feet through hard work, discipline, structure, and God's Word. For more information, visit their website at http://www.nextdayministries.org/

Park Avenue United Methodist Church Food Pantry

Located in the Moxham section of Johnstown, they provide food to low income families.  Their hours of operation is the first and third Wednesday of each month.

Prison Outreach Ministry

They facilitate weekly interactive Bible studies with male and female inmates in State and Federal Penitentiaries in Western Pennsylvania, while providing the opportunity to build healthy relationship through God's Word as inmates prepare to re-enter society.  They also provide items for children ages 10-18 who are in the regional emergency shelter in Ebensburg, PA. Salvation Army

Located in downtown Johnstown, provides emergency assistance to those in need, such as home heating, utility assistance, and food assistance.  They also provide dental examinations through their dental clinic; Project Bundle Up provides winter items; and their emergency Disaster Services help people that have been through fires, floods and any other natural disasters. United Methodist Human Service
