UNITED METHODIST VIETNAM MISSION
INITIATIVE
The Grove Avenue United Methodist
Church has recently discovered a new Mission opportunity. The
Shawnee Valley District in the West Ohio Conference is supporting
the United Methodist Vietnam Mission Initiative to purchase
motorbikes for United Methodist pastors in Vietnam. The
Shawnee Valley District has sponsored a mission trip to Vietnam.
The mission trip participants rode the motorbikes and delivered them
to the Vietnamese UM pastors. These motorbikes are used to
start house churches in many remote regions of Vietnam. The
Grove Avenue UM Church collected a total of $783 to support the UM
Vietnam Mission Initiative. If you wish to contribute to the
initiative please send your donations to the church office earmarked
UM Vietnam Mission Initiative.
The UMW is still collecting Campbell's Soup Labels for the Ruth
M. Smith Center in Sheffield. You do not need to turn in
the entire label, just the proof of purchase square containing
the UPC code. Check your labels for the clearly marked
area which may have one of the Campbell's Kids on it.
Don't forget these labels: Campbell's beans, Campbell's
tomato juice, Campbell's gravy, Prego, V-8, Franco-American,
Pepperidge Farm, Spaghettios, Swanson's broth, Swanson's canned
chicken and Swanson's stock (cardboard box). As you rinse
the cans and plastic for recycling, take a moment to cut off
that UPC code and support this mission project!
